About Me

I build Flutter apps for financial institutions, and the AI tooling my team codes with. Senior Flutter Developer and Google Developer Expert for Firebase, working with Flutter since 2018 and professionally since 2020. Half my work is regulated financial products, brokerage and retail banking, where reliability and security are requirements rather than preferences. The other half is applied AI engineering: agent Skill and instruction layers, multi-provider model routing, and cost controls for an internal AI platform.

Experience

Job Experience

  1. 02.2024 – Present
    Senior Flutter Developer
    Commencis

Contributing to multiple cross-platform projects for major financial institutions, including Yatırım Finansman, Burgan Bank, and ON Mobil, alongside internal platform projects.

    • Built the Skill, instruction, and prompt layer that adapted an internal AI coding agent to a production codebase, taking it from generic output to usable project-specific engineering work.
    • Extended that platform with multi-provider model support, job-type-based model routing, model-level output quality logging, and a quota and billing dashboard with alerting, delivered alongside full client project work.
    • Own core user flows, shared architectural modules, third-party SDK integration, and SSL certificate pinning on a retail investment and trading platform.
    • Delivered retail banking applications for two separate financial institutions from a single Flutter codebase, with features, theming, and navigation driven by environment configuration, and implemented jailbreak and root detection across both.
    • Build features on an existing Server-Driven UI layer, enabling server-side logic and UI updates without new store releases, and contribute improvements back to the shared platform module.
    • Implemented deep linking and Adjust attribution, and established automated testing, analytics, and error monitoring across Android, iOS, and web.
  2. 09.2022 – 02.2024
    Senior Flutter Developer
    Paraşüt Software Technologies
    • Took on team leadership for a six-developer mobile team delivering Flutter applications across the Mikrogrup product portfolio.
    • Built and owned the team's CI/CD pipeline on Codemagic, automating test execution and store deployment for iOS and Android. The pipeline design was carried over when builds later moved to self-hosted Jenkins.
    • Set the testing standard: the team maintained above 75% coverage across unit, bloc, widget, and golden tests.
    • Mentored junior developers on architecture and testing practices.
  3. 12.2021 – 09.2022
    Flutter Developer
    Paraşüt Software Technologies
    • Built Flutter applications from MVP to production for companies across Mikrogrup, growing them in line with product requirements.
    • Worked with Chopper for networking, Bloc for state management, AutoRoute for navigation, and Firebase Remote Config, Analytics, Crashlytics, and Cloud Messaging.
    • Applied Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) as the team's working standard, adapting both to each product's requirements.
  4. 07.2021 – 12.2021
    Flutter Developer
    S-aide
    • Built banking features for the cross-platform S'aide application in Flutter, shipping to Android and iOS.
    • Worked with Dio for networking and GetX for state management.
  5. 11.2020 – 07.2021
    Flutter Developer
    Sinar Initiative
    • Built Android and iOS applications in Flutter.
    • Implemented a custom caching layer to improve app performance.
    • Used HTTP for networking and Provider for state management.

    Development Intern
    Fugo Bilişim Teknolojileri
    • Built the company website, fugo.com.tr, with HTML, CSS, and PHP.
    • Developed scripts to collect and process word lists from dictionary sources for word game content.
  8. 09.2018 – 01.2020
    Full Stack Web Developer
    University of Yalova
    • Built the university's website from scratch using .NET MVC and MSSQL, live at yalova.edu.tr.
  9. 07.2018 – 08.2018
    Development Intern
    Foreks Bilgi İletişim Hizmetleri A.Ş

References

We had the chance to work together on projects at Yalova University's IT Department for a year and a half. On Göktuğ's recommendation, we were able to bring a number of new technologies into our project. The mobile and web applications he developed showed us his ability many times over. He was a valued employee and student, and I knew he would graduate having done justice to computer engineering. His entrepreneurial side added real value to the projects we worked on together. He has a strong instinct for building new things, and he consistently pursued both novelty and maximum performance in his work. I have no doubt he will succeed in the years ahead, and I am glad to give a reference for a colleague whose personal and professional development is at this level.

University of Yalova, Head of IT Department

Throughout his studies, his academic and social performance across a range of courses was above average. His consistent care over project and assignment submissions, together with his participation in class, set him apart from other students. I see his willing involvement in activities outside coursework as an important asset for the career path he has chosen. The mobile application he developed for our students gave a clear picture of his creativity, work ethic, and drive. I am confident that Berat Göktuğ Özdemir will show the same success in his professional life, and that his communication skills will be one of the most important assets on the path he has chosen. I am glad to recommend him.

Göktuğ completed his 2018 summer internship at our company successfully. He was not content simply to finish the tasks he was given; he brought his own ideas to us and delivered a currency parity application with considerable success. He stood out for how he communicated within the organisation and for his work ethic, and his aptitude for teamwork and sense of responsibility were both high. We offered to keep working with him on a part-time basis, but his coursework and projects meant we could not work together at that stage. He has the potential to add real value wherever he is through his energy and creativity, so my reference for him is unreserved.
